Otto Park Wall of Remembrance

This memorial honours all Australian servicemen and servicewomen who have served our country in all theatres of war.

The commemorative mural painted on the Wall of Remembrance by artist Jimmy C, is based on the original mural painted by artist Reg Stevens on the clubroom wall of the St Peters RSL, which occupied this site from 1952 until 2005.

The clubrooms were opened by the Premier, Sir Thomas Playford in December 1952 to cater for a boost in membership after WWII.  Prior to this time, the St Peters branch of the RSL (which received its charter to operate in 1926) held meetings at the St Peters Town Hall.  A new section was added in 1977.

Declining membership led to the closure of the clubrooms in 2001.  Some of the remaining members joined the Payneham RSL the same year.
