The hall commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

Originally erected as the Pioneer Hall in 1907, the hall was taken over as a Memorial Hall in 1949.

Dorrigo Shire Council, at the August meeting, agreed to accept the trusteeship of the Pioneer Hall at Nana Glen Rail, which was recently taken over as a Memorial Hall by the Ex-Servicemen and Women of the district. The application for Council to accept trusteeship was made by Mr. J. W. Hayes, on behalf of the Ex-Servicemen and Women's Committee. It was advised at the same time that an application was being submitted to the appropriate authority for the registration of the controlling body under the Charitable Collections Act. The necessary motion accepting trusteeship was sponsored in Council by Cr. Ron Wilson, seconded by Cr. Hooson.
Coffs Harbour Advocate (NSW), 30 August 1949.
