The memorial commemorates those who have served in the Australian armed forces or as Queensland Railway employees in World War Two and all subsequenet conflicts.

The memorial features a series of black granite pillars featuring a photographic display.

This memorial was erected by the members of
the Ipswich Railway RSL Sub Branch
and is dedicated to the memory of all who served
our nation in World War Two 1939 to 1945
and in all since, at home and abroad,
in the Australian Armed Services
or as Queensland Railway employees.

assembled at Ipswich Railway Workshops, circa 1943
