The St Francis De Sales Church commemorates those who have died in service or been killed in action in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
The foundation stone of the church was laid on the 7th October 1951 and the church was blessed and opened on the 6th July 1952.
Sunday promises to be a red-letter day in Millmerran, when the new War Memorial Church, erected under the patronage of St. Francis de Sales, will be blessed and opened by the Bishop of Toowoomba, Dr. Basil Roper, at 2,30 p.m. His Lordship will celebrate Mass in Millmerran at 8 a.m. A large attendance of visitors from surrounding districts have signified their intention of being present. Buses will leave Toowoomba at 10 a.m. and Warwick at 9 a.m., returning at 4.30 p.m. Light luncheon and afternoon tea will be served on the grounds.
