The hall commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
The stone for this hall was selected from fire razed Marble Hill, and laid by Sir Thomas Playford, G.C., M.C., M.P., on 13th April 1957. Marble Hill was the Vice-Regal summer residence for the Governor of South Australia until it was destroyed during the Black Sunday bushfire of 1955.
