An avenue of 41 trees was planted in 1990 to commemorate serviceman from the Monto District who had died in service or were killed in action in World War Two, the Korean and Vietnam wars. There is a plaque near each tree.

Originally all trees were Cadaghi (Corymbia torelliana). However, some of these have died and have been replaced with Blue Gum (Eucalyptus tereticornis), Spotted Gum (C. variegata subsp. variegata) and Kurrajong (Brachychiton populneus)
