The memorial commemorates the No. 5 Royal Australian Air Force Hospital which served Australian and United States of America personnel who were based at Tocumwal Aerodrome from 1942 to 1946. The memorial is located at the site of the hospital.

Site of W.W.II  No. 5 R.A.A.F.  Hospital

This plaque commemorates the 240 bed RAAF Hospital which served American and Australian personnel stationed  at Tocumwal Aerodrome 1942 - 1946.

Comprising 9 wards, Operating Theatre, a total of 43 buildings housed 34 doctors and nurses. Concrete foundations and  water tank still remain.

Erected by Tocumwal Historic Aerodrome Museum with the assistance of Department of Veterans Affairs.
