The gardens commemorate those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

The gardens contain plaques dedicated to the services as well as individual garden beds dedicated to those who have died in service or have been killed in action in conflicts in which Australia has been involved. 

A plaque was added to the gardens in 2015 to commemorate the centenary of ANZAC.
