Australian Defence Force Health Service MemorialPrint Page
The statue of ‘Simpson and his Donkey’ commemorates the work of the health services of the Australian Defence Force.
Simpson was chosen as the subject for the monument in part because of the strong South Australian link with the Australian Army Medical Corps. Adelaide was home to the 3rd Field Ambulance from World War One until 1995.
