The hall commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
A tender of £4500 has been accepted for the building of the Longford War Memorial Hall. A meeting of the hall and community centre committee on Thursday accepted the tender, which was made by A. E. Henry and G. E. Hugo, Launceston. The hall will be 43ft x 40ft. with a foyer 33ft. x 12ft. Construction will be of reinforced concrete.
