Jim Pattison was a timber feller working in the Strzelecki Ranges in the 1920`s.

Fellers amused themselves by climbing trees in their spare time, chopping a notch in the trunk, slipping in a 6 inch wide spring board , 4 feet apart, returning to the ground for each successive springboard.

Jim Pattision`s record of 165 feet was considered an Australian record the the time.
