John Egan`s Cairn

On the 4th August 1851 near this site, John Egan discovered payable gold.

This cairn was erected to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the discovery of gold with funding provided by Hepburn Shire Council and the Victorian Government through the Community Support Fund

This plaque was unveiled on 4th August 2001
