The School of Visual and Performing Arts have commemorated Leo Cooper-White through the design and construction of a 600 millimetre bronze sculpture of a memorial Queen Chess piece.

On the 17th of March 2011, Leo Cooper-White, 20, a third-year theatre student at the School of Visual and Performing Arts, passed away in a tragic accident. Leo fell through the roof of the former Coats Patons building on to a concrete floor. It was believed Mr Cooper-White and a group of friends had gone to the site, now owned by the Door of Hope, to view the city.
