The Plaque was donated by the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA), and named "Mickleborough's Corner" in honour of yacht racing legend Don Mickleborough.
A member of the CYCA for 55 years, Mickleborough owned the now 75 year-old famous Huon Pine yacht ‘Southerly’ for 53 years, before passing it to his crew mates, McAuley and Sheridan in 2011 after steering his 73-year-old Southerly to worthy third place in the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia’s annual Great Veterans’ race on Sydney Harbour at the age of 86.
Mickleborough and his yacht "Southerly" competed in the Sydney to Hobart yacht race 34 times.
