A park commemorates Thomas and Joseph Walton who established the road from Hobart to Huon.

The original stone was erected in 1878, however it was accidentally destroyed and a replica was erected in the main street of Huon.

Animus Gratus.

This stone is erected by a few friends as a tribute to indomitable courage and perseverance as displayed by Thomas Walton and Joseph Walton in pioneering this line of road from Hobart Town to Huon

A.D.1855.

Erected March 1878 by J. Gillon, J. Risby

Back Inscription

This original stone having been accidentally destroyed, this replica was commissioned by C.A. Risby Family in 1994.
