Actual Monument Dedication Date:Sunday 17th April, 1988
Front Inscription

          To commemorate
CAPT. THOMAS LACEY LAWSON
miner and early Chairman of the District Council
              of Barossa,
and his wife CATHRINE CONSTANCE,
who purchased this land, 1845.

Their descendants were prominent in the
          Barossa goldfields.

Erected by their descendants,
with co-operation from the E&WS Department

Unveiled 17 April 1988 by I. C. Ross  
Chairman,  District Council of Barossa.
