Front Inscription

To the glory of God and in memory of Adam Amos of Glen Gala his wife & sons James, John and Adam

also John Amos of Cranbrook his wife & son James, born at Gala Water Scotland

Erected on the 100th anniversary of their landing in Hobart Town on March 17th 1821 in the "Emerald" which was to sail from England by private charter direct to Van Diemens Land.  They were granted the lands of Glen Gala and Cranbrook, and through their efforts this church was built.

He bringeth them unto their desired haven
