Actual Monument Dedication Date:Sunday 16th April, 1916
Front Inscription

To the greater glory of God

And in memory of Lieutenant Richard T. F. Seldon
4th Battalion, A.I.F.

Killed in action at Lone Pine, Gallipoli.
August 6th 1915

Erected by a number of his friends and associates in athletics.

Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends

Of the dead who have fallen in battle, the wide earth itself is the sepulchre, their tomb is not the grave in which they are laid, but the undying memory  of the generations that come after them.  Mazzini
