A monument commemorates Sergeant pilot D.E.W. Roxburgh who was the first casualty of 79 Squad­ron when he killed in May 1943. He was flying Spitfire aircraft EE834 / A58-136.

The monument is approximately 0.75 kilometres south of the homestead.
