A sanctuary lamp commemorates Flying Officer Edward Cyril Buckland who was killed when his plane crashed in September 1944 during World War Two.

He was onboard the 27 O.T.U. R.A.F. Wellington bomber LP 436, when it crashed during a night bombing exercise.
