The Croaker Memorial Church commemorates Frederick James Croaker, former manager of the Walhallow station, which was owned by the New Zealand and Australian Land Company.  The foundation stone was laid in his memory in 1923 and the church was officially opened and dedicated on the 22nd June 1924.

After his death in 1920, a committee was formed to raise funds to build a church at Caroona, and it was decided to dedicate the church in memory of Frederick Croaker.
