Plaque, unveiled by family and friends on the 40th anniversary, in memory of Noel Hawley who was killed while on duty at Rydal Railway Station. The Hotshots Hockey Club; Rail, Transport and Bus Union and Rydal Village Association generously supplying funding and labour for a memorial to be unveiled in his honour. 

Noel Hawley was a young Lithgow railwayman getting on with his job as station assistant on the night shift at the then active Rydal railway station when he was shot dead in a motiveless murder on the 14th September 1973.
