Mr C. I. Bates Print Page 
The Bates Memorial Nursing Quarters were built to commemorate Mr C. I. Bates who was Honorary Secretary of the Hospital Board from 1922 to 1936.
Mr Bates died in 1936 and a memorial tablet was unveiled at the nurses quarters on the 12th May 1937 by Mr Stubbs M.L.A, member for the district.
