A park commemorates the community services undertaken by Ronald Penpraze who was killed in a road accident in 1986. A plaque is located in the park.

South Malvern Park was opened in May 1983 by the Minister for Public Works, Hon J.H. Simpson following the part closure of Victoria Rd and the demolition of a number of houses on the west side. In 1986, the park was renamed after Ronald Penpraze, former President of Malvern Primary School and Malvern Girls’ High School; member of the park management committee; and well known local plumber.
