The sculpture, "A Weeping Woman" commemorates Jill Cowan, Irene Dabrowski and Padre Pio.

Padre Pio, also known as Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, (25 May 1887 – 23 September 1968), was a friar, priest, stigmatist and mystic, now venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church. Born Francesco Forgione, he was given the name of Pius (Italian: Pio) when he joined the Prder of Friars Minor Capuchin.

Padre Pio became famous for exhibiting stigmata for most of his life, thereby generating much interest and controversy. He was both beatified (1999) and canonized (2002) by Pope John Paul II.

In honour of Jill Cowan, Irene Dabrowski and Padre Pio

For the special memory of all those whose contributions were so great.

"Our most important task is to transform our consciousness so that violence is no longer an option for us in our personal lives, that understanding a world of peace is possible only if we relate to each other as peaceful beings, one individual at a time."
