A seat commemorates Clifford Crawford, who was a gem and opal prospector.
When he died his daughter gave a quantity of stones and opal to the local information centre. The management of the centre thought that as he was respected local it was appropiate that the proceeds of the sale of these stones should be put towards a memorial for him. The seat was erected at a cost of $1500.
