A monument commemorates Mrs Jane Robinson who taught thousands of children to swim in the Wimmera River.  She was widely known as the local swimming instructor from 1910, and was awarded a life membership of the Swimming Club in 1938 for outstanding contribution to the club and the community.

She taught swimming using a swimming crate made from a timber deck and 44 gallon drums.
