Plaque commemorates Dame Judith Anderson who was born in Adelaide, South Australia and went on to become one of the world’s top actresses.
She was named a Dame Commander of the British Empire in 1960 for her stage acting and also had a stellar Hollywood career. Amongst her many films dating back to 1933, she was nominated for an Oscar for her role in Hitchcock’s ‘Rebecca’, and she also appeared in ‘The Ten Commandments’ and ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
