The pathway commemorates poet Andrew Barton (Banjo) Paterson. The walk was designed to enhance the community's connection with Paterson and provide facilities and attractions to interest the traveller.

This track, lined with slate seats and etched with Paterson writings, leads to the ruins of the original Paterson homestead, where Banjo spent his childhood over a century ago. It is here at the very isolated Buckinbah Station in his childhood years that Banjo met so many of the characters and heard so many of the stories he wrote about in later life. The large sandstone Picnic Seat at the ruins was dedicated to the memory of Banjo by the great Australian Actor Jack Thompson.
