History Of Thallon MuralPrint Page
A mural commemorates 150 years since Major Mitchell passed through the area in 1846.
In his diary, Sir Thomas Mitchell made mention of the Thallon district when he was held up by flood waters on a sand ridge on the Moonie river in 1846. A Bloodwood tree where Mitchell carved his initial still stands today.
