The monument commemorates the pioneers of the Nullan District.
A successful Back-to-Minyip week has been concluded. Some 250 former residents of the district attended the celebrations, which, in view of the unfavorable seasonal conditions, far exceeded the expectations of the organising committee, who expect to show a profit of approximately £70. One of the main features of the programme was the unveiling of a cairn on the site of the first school in the district at Nullan South. This school was erected in 1875, and one of the first pupils to attend the school (Mr. Arthur King) performed the unveiling ceremony.
