The Pioneer Monument
(on the site of the former School of Mines)
The rounded water-worn stones represent the alluvial and dredging phases of mining.
The white quartz represents reef mining.
Grey-Blue Ordovician Rock. The host rock of most of Victorias gold bearing reefs and lodes
