The monument commemorates the pioneers who settled in the area in 1869. This settlement marked the beginning of the Pogue generations in Toolamba.

Dedication

Front Inscription

Dedicated to the pioneers who in 1869 after looking at all land along the Goulburn River from Murchison to McCoys Bridge chose this area for their selections.

A bark hut camp was built 200 metres south of this spot from where the men established their properties.

These men were :

Michael Doyle
Tom Morrison
Jim Morrison
Ted Harden
A man called Hale with one hand

This marked the beginning of the Pogue generations at Toolamba.
