Front Inscription

This plaque commemorates the journey of Allan Cunningham through the Lockyer Valley in 1829

Unveiled by Mrs. Gwendoline May Crozier  
President, Gatton & District Historical Society
18th July, 1982.

Cunningham & his party passed this way on 27th June 1829.  During this portion of his journey he climbed Mt. Davidson (Sugarloaf) and discovered Mt. Tabletop.  The Spa Water Region was also discovered by him at this time.
