Near this site stood the first permanent Police Station at Victor Harbor, 1843 - 1912

This plaque recognises the contribution made to the Victor harbor community by members of the South Australia Police Department since 1839.

Unveiled by Mr. J. G. McKinna, CMG, CBE, DSO, LVO, ED Commissioner of Police 1957 to 1972 Vice Patron of the South Australian Police Historical Society and Mr. B. R. Spilsbury, Mayor of the District Council of Victor Harbor
