Queensland Ambulance Service
Following the establishment of the Queensland Ambulance Service in Brisbane in 1892, approval was granted by this governing body for the commencement of ambulance service operations in Cairns on 8th January 1901.
The memorial is to honour those paramedics and staff who have provided continuous pre-hospital care and transport since that time to the communities of Far North Queensland
