This palque commemorates the centenary of the laying of the foundation state of the Town Hall on 29th November 1867. It ws unveiled by His Excellency the Governor of Victoria, Major-General Sir Rohan Delacombe, K.C.M.G., K.B.E., C.B., D.S.O., K. St. J., on 29th November, 1967.
