The jubilee of the municipality, which eventuated on February 22, 1909, was celebrated by a sports meeting for the school children and others, a public banquet in the Town Hall, and the erection of a drinking fountain at the junction of Alison and Avoca streets, at a cost of £50. Randwick embraced an area of 8064 acres, and had 290 streets, of a total length of 113½ miles.
