REDFERN TOWN HALL
THIS PLAQUE COMMEMORATES THE INAUGURATION OF 
REDFERN TOWN HALL ON FRIDAY 16 DECEMBER 1870
BY THE MAYOR OF REDFERN GEORGE RENWICK.
THE INAUGURATION COINCIDED WITH THE FIRST
MEETING OF THE COUNCIL IN THE NEW BUILDING AND AN INVITATION TO RATEPAYERS OF THE BOROUGH TO VIEW THE BUILDING BETWEEN 7PM AND 9PM. 
THE ARCHITECT FOR THE BUILDING WAS
GEORGE ALLAN MANSFIELD. 
THIS PLAQUE WAS UNVEILED BY THE
MAYOR OF SOUTH SYDNEY COUNCIL

THIS BUILDING WAS RESTORED AND UPGRADED IN 1998/99
BY SOUTH SYDNEY COUNCIL TO PROVIDE 
A NEW MULTI PURPOSE COMMUNITY FACILITY.
THE PITT STREET FACADE HAS BEEN RECONSTRUCTED BASED ON PHOTOGRAPHIC RECORDS. THE REMAINDER OF THE BUILDING HAS BEEN RESTORED OR ADAPTED TO MEET MODERN REQUIREMENTS
