The well was erected by the Manly Warringah Ambulance Committee Women's Auxiliary to commemorate the coronation of King George VI.  King George VI's coronation took place on the 12th May 1937. It no longer functions as a wishing well.

Front Inscription

"This well was erected by the Committee of the Manly Warringah District Ambulance due to the financial efforts of the Manly Women`s Ambulance Auxiliary and is a replica of the famous well at Milan. Spin a coin and wish well". Commemorates the coronation of King George VI.
