The adjacent oaks were planted respectively, on 9th May 1901 and 9th Aug. 1902 by W. J. Mitchell Chairman, Board of Advice to commemorate the federation of the Australian Colonies 1st Jan. 1901 and the coronation of His Gracious Majesty King Edward VII
