A carved stained timber screen in a Gothic style commemorates the pearlers who lost their lives in the April and December 1908 cyclones.
In April 1908 forty-four luggers were destroyed and fifty lives lost, and nine months later a cyclone destroyed another four vessels and fifty lives.

This screen is erected by the Pearlers of Broome to the memory of their fellow pearlers who were drowned in the blows of April and December 1908
