The Memorial commemorates people who have been killed by accidents whilst working in the forests of Tasmania.

The memorial is located among a grove of native trees next to the Kermandie River at Heritage Park Geeveston. The memorial was established with the commitment of the local community and is sponsored by Forestry Tasmania and Duggan’s Concrete at Cradoc.

The memorial consists of plaque installations in memory of those who have lost their lives working in forestry industry in the State. Family members and loved ones of victims can submit an application for a plaque to be included on the memorial.

This Memorial Has Been Erected To Honour
"THOSE WORKERS WHO HAVE LOST THEIR LIVES BY
ACCIDENT WHILE WORKING IN THE FORESTS OF TASMANIA" 

A Stylised Tree Stump, The Memorial Was The
Inspiration Of Geeveston Resident Peter Bennett.  
Geeveston`s Streetscape Reference Group Was Responsible For
The Production And Erection Of The Memorial.

The Memorial Would Not Have Been Completed Without
The Continuing Support Of The Huon Valley Council,
A Generous Grant From Forestry Tasmania And A Sizeable
Donation Of Materials, Labour And Installation Costs
From Duggan`s Quarries And Construction Of Cradoc.

Unveiled On 25th November 2009 By
