A tree and plaque commemorates those who lost their lives in the Wangary bushfire in 2005 and the significance of community support.

The Wangary Bushfire on the Lower Eyre Peninsula, killed nine people in 2005. The fire, known as Black Tuesday, also killed about 50,000 livestock, destroyed 93 homes and burnt through about 80,000 hectares.
