Plaque commemorates the centenary of Rugby League and the historical significance of the site.

Rugby league commenced in the North Coast/Sunshine Coast district in 1920 and the game has been played on these grounds since 1985. The North Coast Rugby League, formed in 1920, was based around the town of Nambour and was the first League to be established in the region.
