Centenary of the Lyndhurst Rifle ClubPrint Page Print this page

The plaque commemorates the centenary of the Lyndhurst Rifle Club.

One of the most successful rifle clubs in the west is the one at the small village of Lyndhurst, about 28 miles from Orange. Recently 122 members went through their musketry course, and there are more to follow. There are said to be very nearly 150 paid up members at present, and the musketry will terminate soon. About 13,000 cartridges have been got rid of, and members are being requested by the powers that be, to bring all shells to store for sale for prize money.
Leader (Orange) 23rd June 1913.
