The stone commemorates the centenary of the Anglican Church of St Anne which was dedicated in 1903.

The timber church was built in 1903 to the design of the Diocesan Architect John Hingeston Buckeridge. The church walls were originally built with external studwork. St. Anne’s, the “English Church” as it was called then was opened and dedicated by the Right Rev’d Nathaniel Dawes, D.D. Bishop of Rockhampton on 17th July, 1903.
