St George's Anglican Church Memorial Stone was laid in 1889 to commemorate the building of the church. 

On Saturday afternoon the Dean of Sydney, assisted by the Rev. James Clarke (incumbent of the parish) and the Revs. J. D. Langley, J. Manning, W. H. A. Saunders, W. Hough, and C. Baber, opened the new Anglican Church of St. George's, at Hurstville. The building is of brick, and has been erected at a cost of £952, of which amount £800 have already been subscribed.
