              THE SALVATION ARMY 
                     1897 - 1997

On New Year`s Day, 1897, Members Of The Salvation
Army`s Nambour Camp Arrived In Montville On
Horseback And Held A Spiritual Meeting On The
Village Green With The Isolated Families Of
Farmers And Timbergetters Of The Area.  Soon
After A Barracks Was Built Adjacent To This Hall.

This Plaque Was Erected On January 1, 1997, By
The Montville Community To Commemorate The
100th Anniversary Of The Salvation Army`s Long
And Close Association With The Village Of
