The plaque commemorates 70 years of the Country Women's Association (C.W.A.) in Galong and commemorates the opening of the supper room in the Memorial Hall in 1939.

The annual meeting of the C.W.A. was held recently. The office-bearers were all re-elected as follows-: President, Mrs. Shaw; Treasurer, Mrs. Friend; Secretary, Mrs. Couch. Although this branch have only a small membership of 13, with an average attendance of 7 at the meetings, they can look back on a very successful year. They have realised their objective in building a supper room at the Memorial Hall at a cost of £432. Visitors have declared the supper room to be the most up-to-date and convenient they have seen.
